Transport

Trains leave every hour and take approximately one and half hours from London, see the timetable provided by One Railways

By Road from London it takes about 2 hours. Take the A12 from London to Colchester; change on to the A120 until you reach the junction with the A133, which will take you via the 'Weeley Roundabout' to Clacton-on-Sea.

A133 new roundabout

A new roundabout has been built on the A133 to give direct access to the Brook Park site just before you enter the Town.
This is a dangourous roundabout as most of the traffic from the town turns into the Brook Park site to goto Tesco's, B&Q, and Currys superstores.
This cuts up the Wheely bypass as originally intended, also the roundabout is offset towards the Brook Park, so youi will have to stop at it comining into town.

An Alternative route is turning off at the roundabout for St Osyths going to the Gorse Road Trading Estate and then turning left on to London Road and following this past the Robin Hood Pub until you get back to the main roundabout coming into town.

Tendring Council have changed the layout of the centre of town recently
They have installed many new crossings protected by Traffic lights in the centre of town and reversed the traffic flow of Jackson Road.(see Red Arrows)

You can end up going round in circles by going north up Pier Avenue from Station Road, where you are forced back into Rosemary Road going South back to Station Road.(see Red Arrows)
Traffic from the Shopping Centre is forced to turn left on Rosemary Road, instead of being allowed through the centre of Town

From July 2007 The centre of town has a new square at the junction of Pier Avenue and Station Road (The Yellow Area) which blocks traffic from going down Station road to the Front, it may only turn off down Pallister Road or take a round trip up Pier Avenue towards Rosemary Road, where it will be forced down Rosemary Road towards Station Road again! To get out of this loop take the High Street to Carnavon Road for the Beach or Hayes Road to leave Town via Carnavon Road or Via Alexandra Road to Wellesley Road. Best to Take Carnavon Road direct to the Front if you want the Beach rather than coming into the centre of Town!

Other Companies can be found this web site Transport Most people travel by car, due to the limited bus service, so there is good Public Parking in the Town provided by Tendring District Council

There are also regular Coach trips from various operators to Clacton on Day trips.
